In my life, I’ve played at many social casinos that use a sweepstakes system. Still, not many of them rewarded me with 1 million coins just for signing up. The one that did was Spree.com, and here is my in-depth review of it.
One of the biggest prejudices is that all social casinos are the same, but nothing could be farther from the true. They may look alike, but each platform has its own rules and features. When it comes to Spree, it stands out with its unique welcome gift: 1 million Gold Coins (GC) and 2.5 Spree Coins (SC) for free!
Its user-friendly interface that makes browsing a piece of cake and a catalogue with over 1,300 slots plus live dealer games are the other features that caught my attention immediately. On the homepage, you can find various game categories, so you can search titles by types, popularity, provider and so on.
As soon as you create an account with Spree and login into it, you’ll see how many coins you have. The good news: Spree Coins, that can be redeemed, are visible right away, so you don’t have to unlock them or activate any special mode. As for Gold Coins, they have no real money value, but you can purchase them to keep playing games and obtain SC.
When it comes to gaming content, social casinos get better and better. So, you can rest assured that the authentic casino-style experience is guaranteed. That’s the case with Spree that features games from established providers. Here’s the full list of contributing suppliers:
• 1X2 Network
• 24/7 Reels
• 3 Oaks

• BGaming

On Spree.com, you can enjoy over 1,300 casino-style games. Among them, you’ll find slots, Slingo titles and live dealer games. Slots are organized into categories by popularity, release date, features and themes, so you can browse them effortlessly. It’s also possible to browse providers’ collections.
At the moment of writing this review, the most popular game was Spree Gold, an exclusive title powered by Fantasma Games. The good news is that you can access and play exclusive games at Spree with no purchases needed. However, pay attention to bets you must play at. In some cases, the minimum bet is set at 1,000 GC, so you may not be able to play these games if you’re running out of Gold Coins.
I really enjoyed slots at Spree, but there’s more to it. The social casino also features Slingo games and live dealer tables. Slingo fans can choose from 15+ titles that provide the thrills of slots and bingo. As for live casino games, a total of 5 titles are available, including live blackjack, baccarat and 3 roulette variants. Not many, but enough to feel some real casino atmosphere!
Unfortunately, Spree has not released a native app for Android or iOS devices yet. However, that should not discourage you from using it on your smartphone or tablet. The mobile version of the Spree site works like a charm, so you can access it wherever you are and enjoy the games with no glitches provided your internet connection is good enough.
Spree’s list of restricted US states is a bit longer than at other social casinos with sweepstakes. Owned and operated by Play Spree Ltd. Incorporated Service, the social casino does not accept players from the following states: Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey and Washington.
If you are reading this review outside of the US, including Canada, you should know that you won’t be able to create an account and play at Spree either.
As I highlighted in the intro, Spree welcomes your decision to create an account with a mind-blowing package of 1 million Gold Coins. That’s more coins than I have ever received from any social casino. In addition, you’ll get 2.5 Spree Coins. This part of the reward is mediocre, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth. That’s enough to try your luck with SC.
Like other social casinos, Spree awards daily free coins just for logging in. On the left-hand side, you will see a counter indicating how much time is left until you can claim a new batch of free coins. Each login will get you 2,000 GC and up to 2.5 free SC.
Other promotions at Spree are mostly tournaments where you can win SC. Besides seasonal tournaments, you can join Sit&Spin, an ongoing competition letting you spin, steal and freeze your opponents’ reels to collect points and prizes. Each competition has its own rules, so before you opt in, make sure to get familiar with them.
New customers can take advantage of the Welcome Offer and get 30k Gold Coins for $9.99. In addition, they’ll get 30 SC, which is quite generous. On Spree.com, you’ll also find default packages at $4.99. These are always available. Sometimes, the operator offers deals at $0.99, so keep your eyes peeled for these packages.
At first, you may think Spree is just another social casino that offers a refer a friend bonus. Yet, once you start reading the T&C, you’ll notice that its policy is much more acceptable. First of all, you can get 10 Spree Coins for every referral. Second, your friends don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on purchases. Instead, a $15 purchase is enough to fulfill the requirements. Also, both of you must have your accounts verified.
What I like about Spree promotions, and particularly about its tournaments, is that there are many opportunities to obtain SC without going on a shopping spree (pun intended). So, keep an eye on the Events section and check tournaments that are added regularly.
Spree doesn’t offer a loyalty program like other social casinos do. However, I don’t find it disappointing, since these schemes are typically designed to reward players who make purchases. IMHO, such a policy undermines the main purpose of social casinos: to play casino-style games for free, with no purchases necessary.
Before discussing banking options, I must say that you must provide your personal and contact details and confirm your identity if you want to make any purchases at Spree. Although it comes as no surprise given that real money is involved, such a requirement is typically imposed later, before you request a redemption. But I understand that the operator must make sure that you are who you claim to be.
To make purchases at Spree, you can use Visa, Mastercard or Apple Pay. Like other social casinos, Spree lets you purchase only Gold Coins, but most packages contain Spree Coins, too. Gold Coins have no monetary value, and you can use them to play the games for fun only.
Bear in mind that you can make purchases using only cards with your name. Any violation of this rule may have serious consequences, such as locking you out of your account and other restrictions.
Spree Coins are redeemable, and you can get your hands on them through promotions and purchasing GC packages. Also, you can accumulate more SC by playing in the SC mode and winning. Spree Coins can be redeemed for cash prizes and gift cards, which is common to most social casinos.
If you manage to collect 75 SC or more, you can convert them into a cash prize at a 1:1 rate. So, 1 SC is worth $1. Besides verifying your account, you must also play SC through at least once before requesting a redemption. The maximum amount you can redeem is $5,000.
Redemptions can be made through bank transfers, so you must share your bank account with the operator to receive a cash prize. It may take up to 10 days for a prize to arrive in your bank account or even longer if the amount is higher.
If you want to receive a gift card, you need at least 10 SC played through 1x. Simply choose the Gift Card option under the Redeem tab and follow the instructions. Gift cards will be sent directly to your email.
US players who join Spree can contact the customer support team 24/7 using the email in the footer of the website. In addition, there is a US phone line for payment-related queries, also available around the clock.
If you are looking for a live chat feature on Spree.com, you won’t find it. Instead, you can submit a ticket through the Help Center, which features various articles on topics like verification, games, purchases and more.
While some social casinos enable players who make purchases to use live chat, Spree doesn’t offer this option at all. However, you can reach its representatives through phone 24/7/365, which is a big plus.
If you want to enjoy casino-style entertainment with no real money involved, Spree can be the perfect destination for you. At least, until you run out of free coins. If you are still hesitant about creating an account with Spree, here are the pros and cons that can help you make up your mind.
Pros
• 1 million GC upon registration
• Exclusive games available to everyone
• 24/7 support via email and phone
• Many tournaments with SC prizes up for grabs
• Great refer a friend bonus policy
Cons
• Identity verification required for purchases
• No live chat
• Limited banking options and slow redemption times
As you can see, there are many reasons to become a member of the Spree community. First and foremost, you’ll feel welcomed once you receive a batch of 1 million Gold Coins, which is unparalleled in the US social casino market.
Next, multiple opportunities to win Spree Coins you can redeem for cash prizes and exclusive games you can play whenever you want will surely keep you engaged. At the same time, Spree has one of the best referral bonuses I’ve seen at social casinos given that it doesn’t requires your friends to spend a fortune making purchases to meet the requirements.
Also, I haven’t come across many social casinos that provide support via phone, like Spree does. Although it’s just for payment-related queries, it is a much better option than waiting for representatives to respond to your email or ticket submitted through the Help Center.
Sincerely, there weren’t many things I frowned upon while playing on Spree.com. The lack of live chat support was one of them, which comes as no surprise at gaming establishments like this. In fact, most of them offer live chat selectively, so if you don’t buy coins, you can’t use it.
However, what really took me by surprise was the fact that you must verify your identity to start buying GC packages. Not that I wanted to avoid that, but I haven’t encountered a social casino that requires you to do that to be able to spend money.
Last but not least, I must mention that the banking options Spree supports for purchases and redemptions are not enough. As a serious player in the social casino market, the operator should accept at least an e-wallet like Skrill and online banking via Trustly besides credit cards, Apple Pay and bank transfers. That would not only provide players with more options but also make redemption times faster.
