Ooh Aah Dracula is a Barcrest video slot released in 2015, offering gamblers a 5x3 playing field with 10 fixed paylines. You can wager between £0.10 up to £500 per spin, which provides a wide range of bets that should appeal to just about every type of gambler. This Barcrest release has several iterations of the free spins bonus, as well as a point-and-click graveyard bonus exclusive to the Hi Roller mode.
The graphics this title offers are rather cartoonish in nature. The reels have a black background with thick, stone walls surrounding it on all sides, taking the shape of a castle. The reels are wide enough that you don’t get to see much of the backdrop itself – you can make out the dark blue night sky above the castle, and a dirt road leading to the reels themselves, with patches of grass on each side of the road. The user interface is rather clean and easy to use, with all information easily available to the players at a click of a button.
Symbols include generic playing card symbols that were specifically decorated for this title – 10, J, Q, K and A have bats, blood and candles on top of them to help them fit into the theme. You also have unique artwork to further sell the idea of a cartoonish Dracula, such as a clothed anthropomorphic coyote villain, a blonde, pale woman with fangs that might be Dracula’s wife, an imposing black castle, Dracula himself with a pair of geeky glasses, and the game’s logo. Wilds symbols have a light purple background with the word Wild written in bright yellow letters, while Scatters are represented by a heart being stabbed by a stake.
Gameplay and Features
Collecting three, four or five Scatters rewards a free spins bonus, but instead of simply increasing the amount of extra turns you get, this game changes things up a bit. For three Scatters, you are merely rewarded with fifteen free spins, during which one symbol is chosen to act as a Wild, and at the end of those fifteen free spins, you receive the win you’ve earned for the duration of those extra spins. However, once you collect four Scatters, you get fifteen free spins and one extra Wild, which play out as normal, and then you receive the option to keep the wins from the fifteen free spins, or to give up those wins to try your luck with ten free spins, and two extra Wilds on the playing field. If you activate the bonus with five Scatters, after the end of the ten free spins and two extra Wilds, you can choose to keep those wins, or try yet again, this time, with five free spins and three extra Wilds present on the reels.
Hi Roller mode can be played for £20 or £30, which gives players five linked spins to play through and a Graveyard bonus. The Graveyard bonus activates at the end of free spins, and has you clicking through five or six grave stones to reveal how many ghosts are hidden beneath. Each ghost is worth £1 each.
The largest jackpot you can win in Ooh Aah Dracula is 500x your wager. The game is a medium volatility offering, with an RTP of 96% during normal gameplay, and 99% during Hi Roller mode.
