Gameplay

We’re going to warn you straight off the bat. There’s no cool visuals or an amazing theme to look forward to here. We won’t hold it against Money Roll. It’s to be expected, given how old the slot is. And while it won’t be winning any awards for its good looks, it doesn’t look that bad, either. The symbol designs, while uninspired, still look good on today’s large, HD screens. The background image is a pleasant shade of dark blue and purple, which is easy on the eyes, and helps keep you focused.

You play this game on a 3x3 board, with five flexible paylines which pay left to right only. Flexible paylines means you can turn individual paylines on and off to lower your total bet if needed. As for special features… sadly, there don’t seem to be any! This sort of overtly simplistic gameplay can appeal to some players. But if, like us, you prefer having a few special features to look forward to? Then this release probably won’t be what you’re after.

Money Roll Slots Real Money

Pragmatic Play is usually one of our go-to developers for how to do a user interface right. But Money Roll is one of the few slots we know that doesn’t use their modern layout! Instead, it looks and functions more like an actual physical machine. You have to adjust your coin value, bet per payline and number of active paylines to set your total stake. Fortunately, the game still tells you the cash value, rather than forcing you to convert coins manually. You can bet from GBP 0.01 to GBP 25 on each spin. Great news for casual and mid-range gamblers, not so much for high rollers.

We weren’t able to find any official information regarding this release’s RTP or volatility. If we had to hazard a guess, we’d place it somewhere around medium, slightly leaning towards high. It works out nicely with the 1200x jackpot you get for a full screen of lucky diamond sevens! Keep in mind if you want to land this jackpot, you do have to have all five paylines active. The less paylines you have active, the more your jackpot shrinks. Without any RTP information, however, we find it difficult to recommend Money Roll to any prospective players.

Bonus Rounds

Simple games have their time and place, but this one takes the concept a little bit too far. At the very least, a Wild or a Scatter would have been enough to break up the monotony of constant spinning. It wouldn’t be ideal, but it would still be something! But this Pragmatic Play release doesn’t give us even that! We’re well aware some gamblers might enjoy having few or no bonuses, but those are few and far between. Without any additions to gameplay, Money Roll ends up feeling objectively worse to play. And it’s that, not its slightly outdated graphics, which made us give it a negative grade in the end.

Summary

Often times, you don’t know how much you’ve progressed until you’re faced with the results. And coming back to this slot made us very grateful to all the awesome new things that we have now! We’re not sure if we would be big fans of online games if they were still like this. For us, with no special features, Wilds or Scatters, this release is a hard no.
